Hello, Hello-- It's Melanie. I am so blessed to be a part of the Broadcasting Family at Pulse FM! :)

I have been married to my wonderful husband Steve for 22 years. He is an amazing musician. He has been a band director for 24 years teaching 6-12th grade. This fall, he will be following God's plan and teaching kindergarten-5th grade music. We feel music is a very important part of expressing who you are. It has been wonderful to watch as our 3 children have the same love of music. Currently, Matthew is going into his sophomore year in college, studying his gift of graphic design, being a great leader with an RA position and truly enjoying the college experience. Andrew is entering his senior year of high school and is a true outdoorsman. He loves hunting, fishing, camping and building the best bonfires ever. Charlotte is heading into her sophomore year of high school and swimming is her sport of choice and she has had a passion for it for about the past 8 years. It's so fun to watch each of them become all that the Lord has in store for them. We love spending time together on Lake Michigan boating, swimming, catching and eating fresh salmon and perch!

I became a member of the Lesea Broadcasting family in May. I heard Kimberly Ann talking about how they still needed volunteers to take phone calls for the Share-A-Thon. I called Monday and was scheduled to volunteer on that Tuesday and Wednesday. Proverbs 16:9- "In his heart a man plans his course but the Lord determines his steps." I thought I knew my course. God has an adventure in store for me that I always dreamed about but had no idea how to pursue it. How do you break into broadcasting when you have never studied it? While volunteering at the station, I overheard our production manager mention they were still looking for an on air personality. With a new found confidence (after reading The Confident Woman, by Joyce Meyer) I approached Corey with my application. He and Gary gave me a chance to share how I wanted to be a part of the ministry here at the station and how I was willing to learn if they could share. Through many great conversations they offered me an on air position and are graciously teaching me what they know about the industry. Being a part of the Pulse FM family is totally God ordained and I am humbled and honored to be walking in the footsteps ahead of me. Thanks for taking this new journey with me:)

When I am not on the air or fishing and playing at the beach with my family I may be having a party! I have been blessed to work with amazing people throughout the 7 years I have been with Lia Sophia Jewelry. It is fun to have parties in peoples homes and offer great jewelry at a great price. It is another form of ministry and a true passion to help others create positive change in their life.

Positive music on Pulse FM became a part of my life about 5 years ago when I was on a journey that God allowed in my life. I was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer in Oct. of 05 at the age of 38. I was raised in the church, accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 29 but my faith was not strong. I didn't know scripture well. Didn't know the promises He had for me. When I walked out of my surgeons office, I remember telling my husband, "I can handle a lot of things, but I don't know if I can handle this." Even though I knew my faith was not strong, I knew I needed God's loving arms to hold me and his words to encourage and uplift me. I believe cancer is part of my story to give Him glory. I walked through cancer so I could help others see what learning about and leaning on Christ is all about. How diving into His word and claiming His promises are here for you and for me. "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Not on my own but through Christ. Claim that for your life too! One of the songs that carried me through that season of life was Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take The Wheel." At times I could sing that song in praise and glory and at other times I wept and desperately tried to give it all to Him. Psalm 108:13 says, "WITH God, we will gain the victory and He will trample down our enemies." Again--it is with God. We don't have to go through those unexpected bumps alone.

Melanie It's gone!

I love being the survivor chairperson for the Niles-Buchanan Relay For Life and I am on the Reach To Recovery team with the American Cancer Society. If I can help just one person go through their cancer journey knowing that there is a loving Father with them and that their story someday will be able to be a testimony to others, it was worth the baldness and so many other crazy things that were a part of that season in life.

I am so excited to be on this wonderful journey with you. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. " Romans 15:13

Blessings to all-

Love ya-
