Century of Progress: 1933 Chicago World’s Fair Presentation

Join us for a presentation about the 1933 Century of Progress Chicago World’s Fair on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 pm EDT. Public historian Glory June Greiff will be talking about the Fair which was held along the lakefront encompassing a 427-acre site stretching three and a half miles. The mission of the Fair was to demonstrate the significance of scientific and technological advances in industry and modern society. Greiff will be joined by Eric Grayson who will be showing original 90-year-old film footage of the Fair, including the famous and often controversial Sally Rand “fan dance”. The event will be held at Historic New Carlisle’s museum at 112 E. Michigan Street in New Carlisle. It is free and open to the public.
